The following is an extract from Vishay Measurements Group publication VRH-CI0005-0301

Vishay Measurements Group has been restructured by Vishay to include five acquisitions made during 2002:

With these acquisitions, Vishay has entered the global market for strain-gage-based transducers and instruments used in the weighing industry. Vishay Measurements Group now has a product range from resistance strain gages, to transducers (the metallic structures to which the strain gages are cemented), to the electronic instruments and systems that measure and control output of the transducers.

Growth and Synergies

Vishay has reorganized Vishay Measurements Group into two new operating divisions; Vishay Micro-Measurements and Vishay Transducers.

The Vishay Micro-Measurements Division is now what was Vishay Measurements Group prior to these acquisitions. The principal product of this division is strain gages. In addition to including Micro-Measurements strain gages and other products manufactured by Vishay Measurements Group since 1962, the product line will now include many of the strain gage products of JP Technologies (from the Sensortronics acquisition), SEEA (from the Tedea-Huntleigh acquisition), and BLH (from the Thermo BLH acquisition).

The Vishay Transducers Division is a new entity that integrates the operations of Vishay Sensortronics, Vishay Tedea-Huntleigh, Vishay BLH, Vishay Nobel and Vishay Celtron. The principal products of this division are load cells, weigh modules, instruments and weighing systems.
